Brave Baby Tate
At about 2 weeks old, little baby Tate got a very bad form of staff infection. He spent 6 nights at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. We were both there for him, but his daddy was the one to bring him initially because I was out of town in Fort Lauderdale when we found out he was sick. Jon brought him to the hospital, met with the doctors and was with him during the most critical hours - spinal taps and invasive testing. Jon was strong for all of us. Tate was brave and strong too. Little Tate had IVs. They had to change the port every 24 hours because his veins were not strong enough to withstand more at one time. We were so thankful for the wonderful doctors and family support. Mom came to keep Brooks for a few days and then Grand mommy & Granddaddy came to help too. During our time at the hospital, I came to realize how lucky we were. There were so many sick children and babies there. I can only hope that their prayers were answered like ours were. You feel so helpless when your little child is sick. I know Jon and I would have given our lives to help Tate. Keep all of the children in your prayers and know that we are lucky and blessed.
